Description: Google Scholar is a subset of Google that focuses on peer-reviewed journal articles and scholarly books. To see the links to full text articles from journals that we subscribe to, search for “Douglas College Library” under Settings - Library links in Google Scholar. Later in your search results, use “Get Full Text at Douglas” links to access licensed resources.

Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.

Subject: Indigenous Studies, First Nations Studies
Description: The Indigenous Studies Portal (iPortal) is a database of full-text electronic resources such as articles, e-books, theses, government publications, videos, oral histories, and digitized archival documents and photographs. The iPortal content has a primary focus on Indigenous peoples of Canada with a secondary focus on North American materials and beyond.
Access: iPortal includes freely available materials that anyone can use, as well as some resources licensed by the Douglas College Library. Access steps vary by resource, and you may be prompted to choose Douglas College or sign in with your CNA.

Description: Provides access to scholarly journals mainly in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Subject coverage includes: Anthropology, Education, Finance, History, Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, and Sociology
Access: JSTOR includes many publications that delay access to current issues.  Most of these access delays are in the 3 - 5 year range.  If a recent issue is not available check the journal's moving wall field to see when it will become available.  Note: the article may be available in another Douglas College Database.
