Digital curation in the anthropology classroom: successes and lessons

About this event

Body

Anthropology instructor Jaime Yard and Librarian Megan Toye will discuss their recent collaboration in the classroom, wherein second year students curated digital exhibitions using primary sources from open access archives available online. This presentation will explore how digital curation can serve as an engaging, hands-on approach for teaching information literacy and cultural anthropology. Key takeaways and lessons will be shared. Time will be given to workshop lesson plans and play with Omeka, the digital exhibition software, so please bring your laptop if you’d like to explore and brainstorm with us.
