Article Date
April 24, 2025

Effective April 24th 2025, the library’s discovery platform OneSearch and all EBSCO databases, will have a new look!

The user interface for all EBSCO databases will be revamped on April 24th 2025. The new user interface is based on customer feedback, usage data, user research and usability studies conducted by EBSCO, and provides a simple, intuitive way for users to search for and discover resources available through the library.

Key new features:

  • Quick access to popular filters under the search box
  • “More like this” feature on search results page that suggest related and similar resources for browsing
  • Concept map that visualizes related subjects and concepts
  • No more permalinks: the URL addresses for resources in OneSearch and EBSCO databases are permanent
  • Dashboard to access saved articles, create projects and set user preferences
  • Enhanced accessible reading options for journal articles in EBSCO databases: text to speech functionality for HTML full-text articles and auditory playback option for PDF articles

Please note:

  • All your library links will continue to work
  • Items saved in the general “My folder” section will automatically migrate
  • If you have any “custom” folders set up, we will need to migrate the data before April 24th 2025. Please contact Megan Toye(link sends email), Metadata and Discovery Librarian, for assistance.
  • Searches that have been saved in the current classic EBSCO interface will not be automatically migrated to the new version. To retain your saved searches, follow the steps on the new EBSCO Discovery Service LibGuide or contact Megan Toye(link sends email), Metadata and Discovery Librarian, for assistance before April 24th 2025
