Haiku is a type of short form poetry, originally from Japan, that often focuses on images from nature and emphasizes simplicity, intensity, and directness of expression.
Drop by the New Westminster or Coquitlam Campus libraries during the lunch hour to share an idea or topic with haiku writers Trish Rosseel and Katharine Shipley. They’ll produce a custom three-line haiku, just for you, in the traditional Japanese form written in a 5/7/5 syllable count – on typewriters, no less!
