Book Club: How to Be an Antiracist

About this event
The Library & Learning Centre, in collaboration with Human Resources, invite you to join us for a discussion of the book How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi.
This event is taking place on March 21, recognized as International Day for the Elimination of Racism.
Kendi’s book How to Be an Antiracist, described as part memoir and part social commentary, introduces readers to antiracist ideas and asks readers to think about what an antiracist society might look like, and how we can each play an active role in building it. This Virtual Book Club is an opportunity to reflect, ask questions, and explore how to go beyond awareness of racism to contributing to the formation of a just and equitable society. This event is open to all.
Check to see if you can borrow one of the Library's print copies of How to Be an Antiracist. The book can also be borrowed in multiple formats (e-book, audio book, or print) from most local public libraries, including New Westminster Public Library, Coquitlam Public Library, Burnaby Public Library, Vancouver Public Library and Surrey Libraries.
Register for this event and join in via Zoom on March 21 from 3:30-5:00 pm. Participants at our Virtual Book Club will be entered in a lottery to win a book at the end of the event.
Please email Alex at dobrea@douglascollege.ca if you have any questions. Looking forward to hearing from you!
