The Douglas College Archive is the official repository for the historical records of the College. Records created by Douglas College employees are selected for permanent preservation and retention according to the Records and Information Management Policy. Other historical materials of value are also kept in the Archive.
The library is digitizing archival and unique materials to increase use and access to these heritage collections. The digitization of College calendars (1970-2005) has been completed and they are now available online.
The Newspaper Archive collection is the next project which will be launched over the coming months. The Douglas Pinion (1975-1981) and The Other Press (1976-present) have been digitized and will be added online shortly. You can monitor the progress of these important College newspapers through DOOR, the Douglas Open Repository.
If you have historical records or College memories (pictures, posters, brochures, etc.) that you would like to preserve, contact Jacquie Ticknor at local 5178 to discuss and coordinate the transfer.
