Robin DeRosa is a professor at Plymouth State University, part of the University System of New Hampshire, where she chairs the Interdisciplinary Studies program. Robin’s current research and advocacy work focus on Open Education, and how universities can innovate in order to bring down costs for students, increase interdisciplinary collaboration, and refocus the academic world on strengthening the public good.
In this presentation Robin will examine some of the data around textbook costs and the efficacy of OERs as they impact student success, but she will also push past obvious cost-savings benefits to ask larger questions about how OERs, open licenses, and digital technologies that connect learners can be leveraged to develop open pedagogical practices that both empower learners to contribute to the knowledge commons and reinvigorate the mission of our institutions of higher education.
This session will also be available for live streaming.
